Dr. Tracy Edwards began her career as an educator in Chicago where she worked as a middle school teacher, instructional coach, and department chair. Tracy also served as lead Curriculum Designer and Professional Development Specialist for DePaul University/Digital Youth Network in Chicago, where she assisted in the design and implementation of an online writing curriculum for elementary schools throughout the city.

With over 20 years of experience as an educator, Tracy currently serves as a Literacy Strategist in Las Vegas. Tracy served as a Teach Plus Nevada Policy Fellow from 2019-21, where she worked closely with other teacher leaders, school officials, and legislators advocating for systemic change by identifying, examining, and making policy recommendations aimed at impacting student achievement in Southern Nevada. Tracy has co-authored policy memos at the state and federal levels on topics such as teacher retention and recruitment and policy recommendations around federal funding during the Covid-19 pandemic. Tracy is also a published writer and has written about topics such as social-emotional learning, addressing student trauma, the need for the accurate representation of history, and cultivating relationships with families.

Tracy has served in leadership positions at the UNCF Las Vegas Chapter and CodeSwitch Las Vegas where she continues to be an active supporter and advocate. When she’s not immersed in teaching and learning, Tracy enjoys traveling, cooking, and reading science fiction.
