The Amplifying Black Voices Critical Mentorship Program was carefully designed to address pressing racial and ethnic inequities in Nevada's education system by utilizing transformative and emancipatory methods to address root causes of Black pre-service as well as in-service teacher retention.

The Amplifying Black Voices Critical Mentorship program will push boundaries and wipe out the one-way traditional hierarchical and paternalistic approach to mentor/mentee relationships. Further, planting seeds that allow mentees to develop their own critical consciousness and leadership skills to engage their communities in ways that challenge and change the status quo.

Black College of Education undergraduate and graduate students may select a Clark County School District educator to mentor them during the Spring 22’ semester.
