Black teachers are more likely to experience high stress, isolation and discrimination in the workplace. Additionally, Black teachers are often forced to pay an “Invisible Tax” or “Black Tax,” which consist of additional and inequitably distributed workloads assigned to Black teachers that often lead to burnout. We deeply value the mental health of our Black teachers and understand the difficulties of sourcing Black, In-Network therapist. Beginning March 2023, SNBEI members will receive their first therapy session at no cost. There is only a $10 co-pay thereafter.
